Writer Profile

I just found my old author profile on AuthorsDen.com. I added links to my Christmas Books and even posted one of Amy's poems from The Perfect Gift there, called The Darkest Hour.

When I wrote that poem, I initially stopped at the "if not for the dark in the hour before dawn" line. I later added the next four stanzas, but didn't plan to include them in the book until my girlfriend said I should.

"It's a Christmas book, after all," she pointed out. I agreed and decided to keep them in.

Do you agree? Read the poem and comment here, I'm interested in your opinions on the matter.

Welcome to Christmas Writing!

As you may have noticed, Christmas writing has become a big, big industry.

As it should be. It's an important season, and everyone wants to get into the spirit of things and enjoy it while it lasts. Ya know how we often hear complaints about the shopping season being stretched longer and longer, from Thanksgiving to Halloween some years? Well what's the problem with that?

Because on the other hand, everyone also talks about making Christmas last all year long. And while shopping and the Spirit of Christmas may not be the same thing, those decorations and thinking about what to get for friends and family (and even strangers or people you don't particularly like) can't help but get you in the mood.

I'll be posting thoughts here and at Christmas Writing.com. Also check out Christmas Novels.com, which features two of the best holiday books you'll ever love.

More to come.
